6th Grade

Course Description: This course will introduce students to the functions of the human body, cells, weather & climate, energy transfer, gravity, and Newton’s laws of motion.

7th Grade

Course description: This course introduces students to competition and interactions in ecosystems, natural resources, structure of matter, changes in energy, physical and chemical properties, chemical reactions, conservation of mass, photosynthesis, energy flow, the cycling of Earth’s materials, relationships and flow of energy within ecosystems, plate tectonics, sea-floor spreading, potential energy, the Earth, Sun, & Moon systems, the formation & motion of galaxies, the solar system, and electric & magnetic forces.

Course Description: This course will introduce students to earth science. Students will study the interactions and connections between water, air, earth, space, and humans.

7th Grade

Course Description: This course introduces students to cells, heredity, ecology, the environment, and the diversity of living things.

8th Grade

Course Description: This course introduces students to the structure of matter, states of matter and changes to these states, chemical processes and equations, energy, transfer of energy, forces, motion, electric and magnetic fields, and waves.

Honors Science

6th Grade

Course Description: This course introduces students to the engineering design process, automation, robotics, geologic history, and weather and atmospheric conditions.

7th Grade

Course Description: This course introduces students to properties of matter, states of matter, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonds and reactions, motion, forces, pressure in fluids, work and energy, and cellular life.
