Partnership Programs

The Sioux Falls School District recognizes and considers strong community partners as invaluable assets as we work together to achieve our mission "to educate and prepare each student to succeed in a changing world."

Dozens of Sioux Falls businesses and local non-profits are committed to helping public school students become productive citizens through their generous donations in the School Business Partnership Program.  Examples of partnerships include providing mentors, organizing career-related activities, providing meals to teachers during conferences, donating equipment, and other school needs.

If your business is interested in establishing a relationship with a Sioux Falls Public School, please contact:

  • Rebecca Wimmer, Coordinator of Community Partnerships and After-School Programs (partnerships to support existing curriculum)

  • DeeAnn Konrad, Community Relations Coordinator (partnerships for one-time events/activities)

Kids

Community Learning Centers provide a fun, safe, and structured educational delivery system that uses neighborhood schools as the central gathering place for students, families and neighborhoods.

The Community Learning Centers (CLC) Model provides students with academic enrichment opportunities along with activities designed to complement what is taught during the traditional school day. This support will include mentoring, tutoring/homework help, science and technology programs, art, music, sports, and community service abilities.

The Benefits of Community Learning Centers:

  • Licensed, structured programs.

  • On-site at schools eliminating transportation needs

  • Activities complement existing school academics

  • Additional time for tutoring/mentoring opportunities

  • More cost effective for non-profit agencies

  • Students  more likely to earn better grades, improve behaviors, graduate high school, and much more.

The new program begins Fall 2023!

Community Learning Centers will begin on August 24, 2023 (first day of school) and run through May 22, 2024 (last day of school).

Community Learning Centers will be available at ALL Sioux Falls School District elementary schools with the exception of Horace Mann.
