Kindergarten Registration

Welcome Class of 2037!

All District elementary schools hold Kindergarten Preview Event. At this special event, you and your child will meet the school’s administrators, the kindergarten teachers, other school personnel, and representatives of parent organizations. The Sioux Falls School District is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for your child to begin their educational journey.

Students are eligible to attend Kindergarten, according to South Dakota Codified Law, if they are 5 years old on or before September 1st of the current school year. If your child meets these criteria, we would welcome them to one of our 23 elementary buildings.

F through K: 4:30 to 5:00 pm
L through R: 5:00 to 5:30 pm
S through Z: 5:30 to 6:00 pm

Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open.

In order to successfully complete the online enrollment application, please have the following information available:

  • Household information – address where the family resides

  • Parent information – work and cell phone numbers, email addresses

  • Student information – personal and health/medication information

  • Local Emergency Contact(s) – address and phone numbers

  • Previous school address, phone, and fax numbers
