District Priorities

"Strong public schools are essential to our freedom and our future. We proudly welcome all students from every background, culture, ability, and life circumstance and we promise each the same: a challenging education grounded in engaging coursework and real-world learning experiences. Our staff shows up every day to make a difference, stretching students beyond what they thought possible to discover the path to success that is best for their unique interests. We believe in tomorrow’s leaders. We are the Sioux Falls Public Schools."

Dr. James Nold, Superintendent

The Sioux Falls School District is a mission-driven, data-focused district striving to become the best in the nation. This goal is lofty, but attainable when all stakeholders are informed and working together toward continuous improvement and overall achievement.

Through collaborative work with all stakeholders, priorities have been identified - each with measurable goals, growth targets, and challenging expectations designed to move students and staff members forward to greater success.

Professional development for staff, stronger partnerships with the community, care and concern for families, and responsible use of taxpayer dollars are part of the plan. Initiatives will be regularly reported during school board meetings with no sunset on the work. Additional items will be moved into the plan as others become established, evaluated, and cemented in school district culture.
