A career in healthcare awaits the SFSD seniors who graduated from the 2022 Avera Academy. Students earned both high school and college credit by participating in the Academy, which had them on Southeast Technical College's campus four mornings each week and at Avera one morning each week. During this time, they became familiar with the wide variety of career opportunities available through the health system.
The program, funded by Avera Health, in partnership with the Sioux Falls School District and Southeast Technical College, is designed to provide opportunities for students to explore careers in the healthcare field. Avera Health also provides tuition assistance to those students who choose to continue their education at the college level.
