Family Forum Series: Setting Limits

SFSD and Avera Offer Online Support for Families

Learning Series Brings Families and Experts Together on Important Topics

If you've ever wondered why children - especially teens and preteens - don't come with an instruction manual... wonder no more!  The Sioux Falls School District and Avera Health are teaming up for another year of strengthening families through the Family Forum Series.  Experts from Avera and SFSD host free VIRTUAL forums the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6pm to allow families a safe space to learn about the challenges today's students face.

These virtual sessions on a pre-selected topic are not meant to offer personal medical advice, but rather general information to build a parent's knowledge.

  • September 19: Benefits of Setting Limits
  • October 17: Should I Go or Should I Stay? (Definitely GO)
  • November 21: You Be You
  • December 19: Health Body/Healthy Mind
  • January 16: The Dangers of Digital

The link for each session, approximately 25-30 minutes in length, is sent to all SFSD directly AND also posted on the Counseling page for on-demand playback at your convenience.
