The Sioux Falls School District and Hungry Hearts, a long-standing local nonprofit committed to supporting student meal needs, have announced a donation-matching campaign for SFSD's Angel Fund. Hungry Hearts will once again match every dollar donated to the Angel Fund, up to $100,000.
The Angel Fund ensures students with negative meal account balances have access to hot, nutritious meals throughout the school year. Many students face financial challenges, and with 47.6% of students currently qualifying for free or reduced meals, the Angel fund helps all children focus on learning rather than worrying about their next meal.

"We are thrilled to continue supporting the Angel Fund," said Mark Fonder, president of Hungry Hearts. "With Hungry Hearts, we can double to impact of every dollar and help create a community where all students can thrive."
"The generosity of Hungry Hearts and our community continues to inspire us." Said Gay Anderson, Child Nutrition Coordinator. "This campaign allows us to support students whose families are working hard but may still face food insecurity. Every donation, no matter the size, helps students thrive academically and emotionally."
The goal is to turn $100,000 in community donations into $200,000 in support of students. Community members are encouraged to participate. Every dollar counts, even a $10 donation provides a student three meals, and with Hungry Hearts matching donations dollar-for-dollar, your gift goes twice as far. Donations can be made by cash or check at the SFSD Child Nutrition office at 1101 N Western Ave, or online at the link below.
