Hawthorne participates in the Box Tops for Education program. You no longer need to cut out box tops and send to school, just simply download the app to your phone , pick Hawthorne School, scan your receipt into the app and Hawthorne automatically receives credit...
On Oct. 10th, all 1st, 3rd & 5th grade students had a hearing and vision screening with the help of the Lion's Club and the Sertoma Club. All Hawthorne students had free visual only dental screenings by Falls Community Dental staff. Families also could sign up to have their student receive free fluoride varnish also provided by Falls Community Dental.
Oct 3rd a few DECA students from Lincoln High School stopped by to visit with 3rd-5th grade students. They talked about the importance of attending school every day and making sure students work hard in the classroom. DECA is a club at LHS that is involved with business tasks and problems that a member is assigned. They are constantly involved in activities and are a club that gets together often. Michael Jones is the head of the club, and he continually works hard to help his students get the most possible out of DECA.
