Everybody Reads!
The Sioux Falls School District is excited to partner with Siouxland Libraries again for Everybody Reads! From March 13-31, students, staff, parents, and community members are being encouraged to track how many books they read. The goal is to create a community of readers ages 0 –100! Starting March 13, you will see a rocket, astronaut and a galaxy begin to appear in the library. For the next three weeks, a new star will appear in the galaxy when a book is read. Once your student(s) completes a book, they will receive a star to add to the galaxy. We look forward to a bright galaxy with billions and billions of stars!
Don't forget to set your clocks AHEAD one hour this Sunday, March 12th for Daylight Savings Time.

If you’re downtown during the month of March, stop by the Washington Pavilion second floor lobby (free area to visit) and view some Pettigrew Art.
Artworks by 60 of our students have been chosen to be on display in the “Off the Fridge” exhibit. The students participating and their families were notified in February.
Head to Skate City Monday, March 6th 6pm-8pm for Pettigrew's last family skate event of the school year!

Read Across America Week will be February 27th-March 3rd. Pettigrew will celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Suess' Birthday with a week of FUN dress up days!

Pettigrew Student Council will be hosting PINK SHIRT DAY at Pettigrew on Wednesday, February 22nd.
The attached link provides more detail into the history of Pink Shirt Day and it's anti-bullying awareness campaign.
The story behind pink as the shirt color was because a student was being mistreated for a pink shirt that he wore to school, and other students banded together to stand up for this student.
Student Council thinks this would be a great community building day our Pettigrew student body, as well as a wonderful way to spread the Anti-Bullying Message!

The Roosevelt High School Cancer Awareness Club has collaborated with Pettigrew to coordinate a fundraiser for the Cobey DeSchepper family. Cobey is one of our 5th grade Pettigrew students. Shirts and bracelets may be ordered through the link in the QR code on this flyer. **ORDER DEADLINE IS THIS FRIDAY FEBRUARY 17th!! All orders are done online and RHS will sort and deliver shirts to Pettigrew mid March.
