Shape Monsters in 204! Math is getting creative in 2nd grade! As students work through their geometry unit, Room 204 put their knowledge of shapes to the test by creating their very own Shape Monsters! From triangles to circles and everything in between, these monsters turned out GREAT! Who knew geometry could be this much fun?

We had so much fun celebrating our principals for Boss’s Day last week! Students put their creativity to work by drawing pictures of what they think our principals do all day long! We also had students and staff dress up like our principals, making the day extra fun and giving us a more than a few mini-principals roaming the halls!

🐾 Week in Ten! 🐾
Wow! Every week just keeps getting better at Pettigrew! From practicing our safety procedures during our first lockdown drill of the year (the kids did GREAT!) to Kindergarten’s exciting trip to the Butterfly House, there was so much happening around our school! Students in 202 kicked off some FLASHLIGHT READING time! And, of course, we had the INFLATABLE FOOD SCRAMBLE! So many great moments, learning experiences, and memories made this week! Ask your child about their favorite part of the week! We can’t wait to see what next week brings!

Week in Ten! RHS/Pettigrew Homecoming Week was a HUGE success! From fun dress-up days and school spirit to lots of Panther pride, our students and staff made the week one to remember! And what better way to round out the festivities than with a special visit from the RHS Homecoming Royalty! The Pettigrew Elementary Library was awarded the School Achievement Through Libraries (SATL) Award for 2026-2029 by the South Dakota State Library. This award honors the outstanding work of our school librarian Mrs. Ulvestad, with strong support from our school principal Mr. Wagner. The SATL Award recognizes school libraries that make a significant impact on student learning and school culture. Congratulations to our fantastic library!
Our Pettigrew CLC students recently had the opportunity to paint a winning design on one of our city snowplows! They put their creativity to work, and now their artwork will be rolling through the community all winter long.
Keep your eyes peeled for this special Panther plow when the snow starts flying!
Whew, what a week!
This picture day opportunity will be specifically for students that were not able to make it to Open House before school started this year, new students that have recently enrolled, and our Early Childhood/Headstart students.
When all of our students have had a chance to have pictures taken, incoming picture packets will be distributed as they arrive.
Please note, this is NOT our picture retake day. Our picture RETAKE opportunity will be on November 5th for all of our students, once all families have had a chance to review their picture packets.
We’re also expecting a very special visit from the RHS Homecoming Royalty!

Many classrooms celebrated their top fundraising room of the week reward with some special activities and well deserved fun! The entire Pettigrew community is working together to raise funds that will help make our school an even more fun, welcoming, and inviting place for everyone to enjoy—and, most importantly, a place we can all be proud of! 💜🖤

We are almost halfway to reaching our fundraising goal! Thank you to all who have donated already! We have had some fun prizes along the way. Third graders earned music in the lunchroom, K04 won freezies, and we have more challenges coming up! Since we are halfway to our goal, students may wear pajamas and comfy clothes on Friday to school.
Remember, by just registering, you are eligible for the drawing to win a night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in Minneapolis and every share earns you another entry into the drawing.
