Kindergarten teacher Amy Dreke celebrated 25 years with the district. Congratulations on your dedication to the SFSD!

Also retiring this year but not pictured is our evening custodian Paul Zuraff.
We wish all of our retirees well!

The stats are troubling-47% of SFSD students qualify for free/reduced lunches. Their family's income is not enough to make ends meet. That makes it difficult to support school fundraisers. Operation Hope & Caring helps! Get your tickets to the SF STORM game to support schools!

Does your child have conflict resolution skills to solve everyday problems? Join us Tues, April 18 at 6pm to hear from SFSD & Avera Behavioral Health in this month's Family Forum Series segment. Watch for the link in your email. It's practical advice to strengthen families.

Pettigrew Elementary PTO is excited to be kicking off their 1st ever Calendar Raffle fundraiser!
The funds raised from this fundraiser will be used for Fine Arts supplies, PE supplies, library books, orchestra equipment, Pettigrew Days, Field Trips (Spring 2023), and recess equipment (Fall 2023).
It is our most affordable fundraiser at only $5 per raffle ticket or 3 tickets for $10! With each raffle ticket purchase, the buyer will have their name entered into the raffle for a chance to win a prize for the entire month.
Calendar Raffle order forms were sent home with students today.
The last day to turn in completed order forms and payments to teachers is on or before Friday, April 21st. Forms turned in after the start of the Calendar Raffle, will be entered into the remaining days.
Each day in May, Mr D will draw a winning raffle ticket entry and announce the student who sold the winning entry. The prize package winners will be notified by an e-mail or text to determined how they would like to receive their prize package, either pick-up or mailed out to them. If the last day of school is before May 31st those Raffle Ticket prize package winners will be drawn the last day of school.

Today was a special day for a group of students at R.F Pettigrew Elementary and Roosevelt High School. A 5th grader at R.F Pettigrew is battling Leukemia and has a brother who goes to RHS. The Cancer Awareness Club at RHS and students from R.F Pettigrew held a fund raiser for the family and today participating students from both schools got together for a photo. The collaboration between RHS and Pettigrew raised almost $500 for the family. The ‘Courage for Cobey’ shirts even tied in the school colors, with Maroon for RHS and Purple for Pettigrew. What a great show of support from our students for their peers and community members!

SFSD would like to give a huge shout-out to our partners at Delta Dental who visit schools to complete much-needed dental work for eligible students! Cleanings, cavities, and root canals are all done in the mobile bus, so students don’t have to miss school for an appointment! You put a smile on our faces, Delta Dental! Thank you!
