The Washington Pavilion Spotlight Theatre Company came to do a play for the 3rd grades called "A New Norm".

On March 31st, Patrick Henry Middle School Ensembles Tour performed for all 3rd - 5th Grade students at SBA. Big thanks to PHMS for your great performances.

5th grade attended the performance of Shrek Jr. The Musical presented by PHMS students.

World Down Syndrome Day is on Saturday, March 21st! To celebrate Susan B. Anthony EAGLES are encouraged to "ROCK YOUR SOCKS" on Monday, March 23rd, by wearing colorful or mismatched socks.

NCAA Division II National Wrestling Championship is being held in Sioux Falls this weekend. University of Wisconsin Parkside Rangers and Northern State University Wolves wrestlers came to talk to students and read books with them. Good luck to the wrestlers.

It was a great Read Across America Week with fun dress up days. Even the staff was dressing up!



SBA Kindergarten and 1st graders attended a showing of “Click, Clack, Moo” at the Washington Pavilion. Thanks to the Washington Pavilion for hosting. Special thanks to Promising Futures for your generous donation to allow us to attend.

Tuesday our students saw some very cool Science experiments to kick off preparations for our Science/STEM Fair to be held on April 10th. We will also have our annual Art Show and a return of our Multicultural Fair that evening. More information to come about those events. Please read the flyer attached below for more information about signing up your child(ren) to participate in the Science/STEM Fair. Entry forms are due by March 27th. The first 25 students to sign up will receive a free STEM prize.

4th grade students attended the Sioux Empire Water Festival at the University of Sioux Falls. The goal of the festival is to increase awareness of the many uses of water and to preserve its quality for future generations.




Last week in 201 they wrapped up their Social Studies unit on the Civil War! They learned about many important events and people that had a part, including Clara Barton the founder of the American Red Cross! Similar to some of the lifesaving acts Barton did during the war, 201 got to learn a bit about CPR and practice using their classroom stuffies!

This March, Sioux Falls School District will be partnering with Siouxland Libraries and a few other school districts to celebrate Everybody Reads! Everybody Reads is a community initiative designed to encourage reading throughout all Sioux Falls School District and communities. This year's theme is Tales on Trails with a community goal of 500,000 books read.
