It's another week full of activities at Patrick Henry! ⚽🎮🧶📝

⚠️No Track Meet Today, Monday, April 14, due to threat of bad weather. Track athletes will NOT practice. Soccer will still have practice.

April 11 was National Pet Day and we couldn't resist giving a shout out to our Patrick Henry furry friends! We celebrate the loyal companions who bring joy, comfort, and unconditional love into our students' lives! 🐾 💙💛

Patrick Henry Fiber Arts Club meets on Thursday mornings from 7:45-8:40 a.m. Students enjoy time to work on their projects, learn ideas from their friends and connect with others that have similar interests! Just this week, Mrs. Waters, our counseling clerical, shared the process of turning raw sheep wool into usable yarn! If your child has an interest in crocheting, knitting, sewing - anything Fiber Arts related, this might be a club for them! All are welcome - just bring a project to work on!

It's always fun to see what our Patrick Henry students create. Check out the winning bookmarks from the Spring Bookmark Contest. These bookmarks are available in the library!

7 National History Day Projects from Patrick Henry will be competing at the State NHD Competition today, April 9, at SDSU in Brookings! Good Luck to all!

National Assistant Principals Week, April 7–11, 2025, is a time to show our appreciation for our Assistant Principal and Dean of Students, Mr. Noll and Mr. Hall. These two work tirelessly to support teachers, motivate and connect with students, create a positive learning community and face the many unpredictable challenges that land on their desk.
Mr. Noll and Mr. Hall play a crucial role at Patrick Henry and this week is a dedicated time to recognize them for their hard work and commitment to Patrick Henry!

We are ready for another busy week at Patrick Henry! Go Panthers!

Students had a great time at the Panther Party! From Gaga Ball, Volleyball, Bingo, Dancing and the Photobooth to Pizza and Pop - there was something for everyone to enjoy! Thank you to the Patrick Henry PTO for organizing this event and to all the families that donated time and funds - the party was a hit! 💛💙

📚Today is School Librarian Day and next week is National Library Week!📚 Today, we want to give a huge shoutout to the amazing librarians at Patrick Henry—Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Ostman—for all they do! From helping us find the perfect books to creating a welcoming space for learning and discovery, these two make our library a place where knowledge and creativity thrive. Their dedication, patience and passion for education do not go unnoticed! Mrs. Nelson enjoys it when students make a connection to her lessons and Mrs. Ostman loves to see students get excited when they discover a great book or series! 👏👏

Patrick Henry Track Families - No Track Meet today - Friday, April 4. Athletes will practice indoors instead!

The 8th Grade Očéti Šakówiŋ Owáuŋspe class went on a field trip to Augustana last week. They had a chance to see the campus and learn about some of the programs the school offers!

April 2, 2025 was National Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! We appreciate the contributions of our amazing Educational Assistants and SPED Support Staff. Their hard work and dedication are vital to the success of students at Patrick Henry!

Spring has sprung in our RISE room! Planting seeds is a valuable experience - it teaches what a seed needs to grow and demonstrates the life cycle of a seed. Students will practice independence as they care for the plants throughout the Spring and watch them grow!

The Humane Society Donations were delivered and the workers were in awe of how many items we collected! Mrs. Haugland's PRO won the Donut Reward for having the most items! Thanks to all for your donations!

The monthly Siouxland Surprise activity last week had students creating art with their fingerprints and ink! Check out their creativity! The next Siouxland Surprise is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29.
