REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL:

BA/BS Education (preferred)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Event production experienced desired. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit. Ability to left and maneuver equipment weighing 60 pounds.  The ability to travel between locations.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of state, conference, and local rules, regulations and guidelines. Demonstrated ability in establishing and maintaining good public relations with community organizations, civic and professional organizations.

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:

High School Principal, Coordinator of Athletics

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

  1. Manages creative services for the High School, including but not limited to video highlights, graphics, video board creatives, social media, YouTube and Facebook livestreams, livestreamed events, interviews, and special interest pieces.

  2. Creates, scripts, directs, streams, and records audio and video materials. Works with customers to edit materials and produce a final work that meets or exceeds the customers' expectations.

  3. Acts as a lead worker to student workers for livestreamed events and provides training on the use of video and multimedia equipment in activities and other venues.

  4. Provides suggestions and general guidance to assist student volunteers/interns in learning and perfecting new methods to produce quality materials according to Sioux Falls School District and SDHSAA mandates.

  5. Delivers appropriate documentation of equipment to students to complete tasks.

  6. Works with the Activities Department to assist with leading student interns and volunteers for livestreamed events.

  7. Serves as a consultant to departments to offer assistance with the use of resources including guidance on copyright and ADA compliance.

  8. Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment to resolve issues that impede production. Makes minor repairs and/or adjustments and/or arranges for repair by outside providers.

  9. Researches developing technologies and recommends equipment, software, and supply purchases to benefit the District.

  10. Performs additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

WORKING CONDITIONS

CLIMATIC ENVIRONMENT | Inside & Outside

Possibly exposed to extremes of temperature. Occasionally subjected to extreme noise, odors, mists, dust and poor ventilation.

HAZARDS

Possible exposure to communicable diseases. Travel between locations will cause exposure to hazardous driving and walking conditions.
