
Students from 601, 602 & 603 last Friday took a trip to the Washington Pavilion & also had lunch at McDonald's. What a FUN day!





After a long couple weeks of testing, 401 students took a break to celebrate Earth week. They learned about the importance of flowers and pollination to our environment. They each planted flower seeds that they will care for as a class and watch grow over the coming weeks.

Students earned a special STEM Day in the library last Thursday for meeting our Everybody Reads Goal! Students enjoyed marble mazes, LEGO WEDO, OSMO activities, robots, coding, and building. Students used their SOAR skills to communicate, collaborate, work hard and share with their peers. Great Work Eagles!




The School Board has voted to move the last day of student classes to Friday, May 26, 2023 - requiring students to make up two of the five days missed due to weather. Staff will report through Friday, June 2, 2023.

2nd graders will be putting on a memorable concert called, “Pajama Party!” Students will perform at 6:30pm, TONIGHT April 6 in the school gym. Students should arrive at 6pm for the evening concert. The concert will be filled with fun songs, actions, and speaking parts! Check out the sneak peek!

SFSD would like to give a huge shout-out to our partners at Delta Dental who visit schools to complete much-needed dental work for eligible students! Cleanings, cavities, and root canals are all done in the mobile bus, so students don’t have to miss school for an appointment! You put a smile on our faces, Delta Dental! Thank you!


3rds graders were provided the opportunity to see the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra perform at the Washington Pavilion on Monday 3/20. It was the perfect way to end their orchestra unit, where they've been learning all about the instrument families.
