Plans are in the works for SFSD students and staff to bring electronic devices home over the weekend in the event that winter weather presents challenges on Monday. The R.F. Pettigrew Elementary PTO is excited to be kicking off its Spring Calendar Raffle Fundraiser! The funds raised will be used for Pettigrew Days, Field Trips (Spring 2024) and PTO sponsored events.
This year’s raffle has an even larger variety of businesses offering prizes for each day’s winner! Raffle tickets are $5 each or 3 tickets for $10! With each raffle ticket purchased, the buyer will be entered into the raffle for a chance to win the daily prize package during the month of April.
The last day to turn in completed order forms with payment to teachers is 3:00 PM Monday, March 25th.

LIVE TO GIVE!
Pettigrew staff and their families spent some time Monday evening packing food bags for Kids Against Hunger! This was a great opportunity to exemplify the Live to Give theme in March for our Seven Mindsets program.
RF Pettigrew Science Fair and Science Exhibition will be held March 21, 2024 at Pettigrew Elementary.
Both events are free and open to all Pettigrew students and families.
Participation in the Science Fair is not required for Exhibition attendance.
We look forward to amazing, hands-on exhibitions from South Dakota State University, Sanford Health, Avera, Sioux Falls Women in Science, Southeast Technical College, and more!

Dance your way into spring at Pettigrew's Spring Fling Family Dance Friday, March 8th 6:30-8:30pm.
Cost is $1 per person. Candy concessions will be available to purchase. Cash only. All students must be accompanied by THEIR OWN parent or guardian.
Volunteers and their immediate family will receive FREE admission into the event!

Tuesday, Feb 20 is a NO SCHOOL day, so be sure to stop by Oscar Howe Elementary for the second Community Health & Wellness fair, put on by the Community Learning Centers! There are lots of activities for kids, tons of community vendors, and amazing prizes for all!
The Student Council would like to remind everyone that Pink Shirt Day is on Feb. 28th!!
The story behind the pink shirt movement is about a student that was being mistreated for wearing a pink shirt to school, and other students banded together to stand up for this student by everyone wearing PINK..
Our Student Council thinks this would be a great community building day for Pettigrew staff and students!
Get your PINK SHIRTS ready for a PINK OUT at Pettigrew! This could be a great schoolwide photo opportunity message that Pettigrew could send out to all of SFSD!
