Kindergarten Kick-Off Set for March 12th in the Sioux Falls School District!
Do you know of a child who will be starting kindergarten this fall? The Sioux Falls School District is excited to welcome the Class of 2039 and invites families to attend Kindergarten Kick-Off on Thursday, March 12th, at all elementary schools!
Kindergarten Kick-Off is a special event designed to help incoming kindergarten students and their families get familiar with their school before the first day of class. Families will have the opportunity to:
Visit kindergarten classrooms
Meet teachers and school staff
Learn about daily routines and expectations
Complete important paperwork
Get information about school meals and other services
This event is a great first step in helping young learners feel comfortable and excited about starting their educational journey!
Families should attend the Kick-Off event at their child's home attendance school. If you are unsure which school that is, visit the "Find My School" page and enter your address to see your assigned school.
Junior Kindergarten Academy Option
For some children, an additional year to grow and prepare for kindergarten can make a big difference. Families who would like to explore this option are invited to attend a Junior Kindergarten Academy Screening Night on Thursday, April 9th.
The free full-day Junior Kindergarten Academy program provides students with another year of development through hands-on learning, social growth, and foundational skill building.
The program is available at three Sioux Falls elementary schools:
