Education Level

High School Diploma

Experience Required

Ability to operate delivery truck and forklift.  Knowledge of warehouse shipping and receiving operations.

Physical Requirements

Good physical health including ability to lift 75 pounds.  Constant hand-eye and mind-eye coordination, driving.  Repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers.  Frequent bending, carrying, crouching, hearing, lifting, standing, stooping, and walking.  Occasional climbing, crawling, pulling, pushing, reaching and sorting.

Other Requirements

Current State Vehicle operator’s license, ability to operate all delivery vehicles in the District fleet safely; insurable.  Ability to work unsupervised.  Good attendance.  Ability to communicate and follow written and oral direction.  Ability to demonstrate recognition of equipment malfunction.  Demonstrated positive attitude towards people with whom one works, ability to work cooperatively and willingness to accept instructions and training.

Reports To

Supervisor of Purchasing, Plant Maintenance Supervisor, Custodial Supervisor

Essential Function & Duties

  1. Coordinates with other staff within Purchasing Department for pickup and delivery of choral risers, shells and chairs for special programs and events (i.e. graduation, musical programs) throughout the District.

  2. Modifies and adjusts delivery to facilitate timely delivery of needed equipment or accommodate emergency deliveries.

  3. Loads and unloads performance equipment on assigned vehicles.  Operates forklift.

  4. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Occasionally required to work at extremes of temperature and humidity. 

Hazards

Occasionally subjected to vibrations, mechanical and electrical hazards.  Caution also required to avoid potential for burns.  Atmospheric conditions occasionally include fumes, dust and poor ventilation.
