Ability to effectively communicate with families and students to promote school attendance. Ability to meet with families and problem solve circumstances to promote school attendance.
Must have an ability to acquire a comprehensive working knowledge of school district policies as they relate to state and federal rules and regulations. Must have a valid driver’s license, personal transportation, and insurance. Must be willing to transport students.
Essential Functions & Duties
Serves as a liaison between the District and families relative to school attendance, enrollment, and tardiness.
Effectively communicates with students and families regardless of any language barriers or seeks alternatives for interpretation. Including texting, US Mail, phone calls using various platforms, and in person contact.
Completes all time and effort reports.
Have a working knowledge of community resources.
Ability to Identify and facilitate created experiences for students to increase student engagement and attendance.
The position will require home visits.
Facilitates transportation solutions for students and parents for school attendance and meeting purposes including the transportation for students to school when needed and appropriate.
Designs and coordinates meetings for parent and/or student information or training opportunities regarding student attendance issues that may impede a child’s education.
Promotes parental involvement in the school and is the link between the school and home to help families understand the expectations for their child’s success in school.
Available to work days/evening hours and/or a split shift.
Ability to work collaboratively with Social Workers, School Counselors, Grade Level Teams, SRO’s,
Performs other duties that may be assigned by the administration.
Working Conditions
Climatic Environment - Inside and Outside
Work is occasionally conducted in a comfortable environment. Intermittently subjected to cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees.
Hazards
Occasionally subject to atmospheric conditions of odors, mists, and poor ventilation. Exposure to communicable diseases. Travel to various locations in and outside the city limits will cause exposure to hazardous driving and walking conditions.
