Education Level

Bachelor’s degree or 2 year technical/associates degree in computer science, networking, database management, development, security, or equivalent.

Experience Required

Five years of experience in enterprise application administration or any such combination of education, experience, and training may be acceptable.   

Physical Requirements

The ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds is required. Hand-eye, mind-eye coordination, hearing, walking, and driving are required. Repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers are frequently required, as well as keyboarding, lifting, standing, and grasping.

Other Requirements

  • Experience with installation, functions, configuration, capabilities, and training of application software.

  • Day to day use of computer operating systems, Microsoft Windows Server, enterprise education applications, technical support, and design.

Essential Function & Duties

  1. Supervises the Building Computer Specialists, Bench Technician, Technical Support Specialist, and temporary ITS support staff

  2. Assesses supervised staff’s performance by conducting periodic inspections of work performed

  3. Designates shifts and assignments, assigns substitute relief coverage for daily staff absences, and authorizes use of overtime

  4. Provides support to supervised staff to help in their professional development

  5. Assists with the interview process for new applicants for supervised positions

  6. Supervises the SFSD Helpdesk duties

  7. Works with outside sources such as suppliers and technical support

  8. Assists the Director of ITS with annual budget review

  9. Provides ongoing evaluation and updates of device inventory control processes

  10. Supports device management operations and practices (imaging, OS and application deployment, desktop settings, etc.) for currently deployed devices

  11. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Some District classrooms and work areas are not climate controlled and are subject to extremes of temperature and humidity.

Hazards

For some buildings, stairs, chalk dust and exposure to communicable diseases may be a potential hazard. Occasionally subjected to electrical and mechanical hazards. Travel between schools will cause exposure to hazardous driving and walking conditions.
