In honor of World Soil Day, 6th grade science students hosted guest speakers from the South Dakota Soil Health Coalition, who spoke about soil formation and conservation. Students got a kick out of seeing how much (and how quickly) good microbes and decomposers can dispose clothing items in healthy soil vs a soil going through degradation. What an engaging day for our students! Thank you to all the speakers who provided an engaging lesson.

What an incredible day for our eighth graders. Thanks to the Promising Futures Fund, students visited local colleges today. Students engaged in hands-off activities throughout the day, toured the campuses, ate delicious lunches and listened to students speak about college life. Thank you to Dakota State University, South Dakota State University, Augustana University and University of South Dakota for hosting our students and giving them experiences they won’t forget. We are so grateful to the Promising Futures Fund for giving our students this opportunity. ❤️
