Come out and enjoy some great food, fun activities (dunk tanks, bouncy house, axe throwing, and more!), and make a difference for our students! Hope to see you there!

Jenna Anderson was a valued member of our Bison Family, dedicated to supporting our teachers and students within the EL population. Her compassion, commitment, and kindness touched the lives of many. We were deeply saddened by her passing during the 2023–2024 school year, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The Jenna Anderson Memorial Foundation honors Jenna’s legacy by selecting teachers, students, and families within the SFSD EL Department to give back and serve the EL community. The foundation is awarding $20,000 in awards this year.
We are thrilled to share that one of our very own teachers has been awarded a $5,000 grant for classroom materials and supplies! 🎉 Congratulations to Michelle Buettner on this incredible achievement. We can’t wait to see all the amazing opportunities and experiences you will create for your students with this support.

Rise celebrated their 8th graders yesterday with cupcakes and a mean game of dodgeball. We can't wait to see all the amazing things these kids do in the future!
On Friday, Ben Reifel staff and students took part in the fourth annual Bison Community Outreach Day—a day dedicated to giving back and making a difference in our community. Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of service activities designed to uplift and support others.
They assembled laundry kits, created dog chew toys and treat bags, wrote heartfelt cards, and designed welcome home posters. Team 7-2 packed 100 care bags for Delivering Hope, which will be distributed to children in local hospitals facing long-term medical challenges. Team 7-3 held their annual carnival, welcoming Rosa Parks Elementary K–1 students for a fun-filled day of games and activities—rain or shine! Despite the weather, the smiles and laughter made the day a success.
Meanwhile, Team 8-3 visited four local nonprofits, including The Center of Hope, where students helped repair bikes, sort clothing donations, and prepare envelopes for next month’s mailing.
Sixth graders also celebrated the results of their Penny Wars fundraiser, raising an impressive $1,145.99 for the Children’s Miracle Network.
We are incredibly proud of all the staff and students for living out “The Bison Way” and making a meaningful impact. Thank you for your dedication and enthusiasm—we’re already looking forward to next year!
