All three 1st grade classrooms had a Virtual Fire Safety Program last week. Important learnings-Does your student know their address? Does your family have a meeting spot? Are all smoke alarms in your house in working condition?

Reminder that nominations are open for the 35th Annual Dr. John W. Harris Teacher of the year Award! The award is named for beloved Sioux Falls educator and former superintendent, John W. Harris who said “Human contacts are the key element to education. What we are really trying to do is open doors and expand horizons. The horizons are different and the doors lead to different opportunities… but what we are about has not changed.”

Kindergarten and first graders are celebrating DINO-vember in the library. Students have been hearing stories and facts about dinosaurs all month! They have also been participating in dinosaur centers. Happy DINO-VEMBER!
