Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota (LSS) is excited to announce the beginning of a new tutoring program at Rosa Parks! Our desire is to help bring kids who are functioning under grade level back up to academic standards. Sometimes, they just need a little extra help, which is where you become an essential part of the process. We are hoping to hire the equivalent of two tutors working ten hours per week, with eight hours of tutoring (Monday through Thursday) plus two built in hours of administrative work which can be completed on Friday or throughout the week. If the workload needs to be split between more than two tutors, we have room for flexibility. Pay is 20 dollars an hour, so if you would like the opportunity to earn a little extra while supporting our kids, please follow this link to apply on our website: https://lsssd.hireclick.com/jb/tutor-mentoring-services/view/95821.

Several reached out after the Rosa Parks spirit wear was delivered saying they missed the link. We have opened up the store again allowing families to place an order if you want. The store will close on October 20th. It will be delivered to school and sent home with students about three weeks after the store closes. https://customdesign.americaninkllc.com/rosaparks/shop/home

The students worked so hard and earned their September PBIS Reward on Friday! They earned ROAR tickets by showing RESPECT, OWNERSHIP, a good ATTITUDE, & RESPONSIBILITY. Their reward was a parade with some Washington High School students. They also visited classrooms and joined in some recess games! Thanks for helping us celebrate WHS!
