Middle and high school orchestra students across the Sioux Falls School District will come together on Tuesday, November 8, for a combined orchestra festival at the Sioux Falls Arena.

During the day, approximately 1,000 orchestra students in grades 6-12 will rehearse with District orchestra directors and The University of South Dakota Conductor of Orchestras, Luis Viquez.

Students will share their accomplishments that evening. This three-part concert will start with performances from 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, followed by high school performances. The concert will culminate with a combined performance of all 1,100 string instruments performing an arrangement of “Beethoven’s Ode to Joy” from his 9th Symphony.

The concert is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 pm, with performances starting at 7 pm.
