Graduation week was filled with celebrations honoring the Jefferson Class of 2026 and the many accomplishments of our seniors.
On Monday, May 11, the SFSD Sioux Falls Native American Connections team proudly hosted the Native American Honoring Ceremony at the Washington Pavilion. This annual event recognizes and celebrates our Native graduates and the important milestones they have achieved. It was an incredible evening dedicated to honoring these students and their families.

On Tuesday, we celebrated our English Learner program graduates with a party in the library. Students enjoyed cupcakes and pizza while teachers stopped by to offer congratulations and celebrate their hard work and success.
Wednesday brought one of Jefferson’s favorite traditions, the annual Senior Cookout. Seniors gathered together one last time as the Class of 2026 to enjoy Chick-fil-A sandwiches, spend time with friends, and celebrate everything they have accomplished during their time at JHS. Students were also invited to leave their mark by signing the Jefferson windows.

The week concluded on Sunday with the formal graduation ceremony at the Sioux Falls Arena. Family, friends, staff, and classmates gathered to celebrate the Class of 2026 as they officially became Jefferson graduates. Speakers Learys Mercado Castello and Brooks Heiser shared reflections and encouragement for the future, making the ceremony a memorable close to an incredible week of celebration.

Congratulations to the Jefferson Class of 2026. We are proud of you and excited to see where your future takes you.
