✨ Better late than never! ✨
Congratulations to our January Students of the Month for kicking off 2026 as true Edison leaders. You live out the Edison DREAM every day through your character, kindness, and hard work, and our school is better because of you. We’re so proud to celebrate you!

Friday, January 23, 2026, will be a Remote Learning Day in the Sioux Falls School District!
iPads and Chromebooks were sent home with each student earlier today. We will not have in-person learning in the schools, but students are expected to connect to their Canvas account from home for assignments and learning resources. They have practiced this at school and know what is expected of them.
Additional information for Students and Families can be found here: https://app.smore.com/n/wgz62

THERE WILL STILL BE PRACTICE AFTER SCHOOL, but please be sure to pick up your athlete by 5:30 PM!

📣 LOST & FOUND REMINDER! 🧤🧥
Take a look, Edison families! These are the current items in our Lost & Found.
Students have until the end of next week to claim anything they’re missing before items are donated.
Lost & Found is set up by the north doors (near the cafeteria) for easy viewing.
Encourage your student to swing by and check for coats, water bottles, hats, gloves, lunch boxes, and more!
Thanks for helping us get these items back home where they belong

Last Friday, our Edison Inventions Carolers continued a cherished holiday tradition by visiting staff members’ homes and sharing holiday music and joy. 🎄🎶
Thank you to our students, families, and staff who help make this meaningful tradition possible year after year.

As we wrap up this year’s Drive Out Hunger food drive, we couldn’t be more proud of our Edison community!
For the past week, Student Council has led an incredible effort, and our students showed up in a BIG way. The grade-level competition was fierce, but in the end, 7th grade claimed the victory!
Here’s what we accomplished together:
• 1,331 items staying at Edison to help build and sustain our new Edison Backpack Program.
• 597 items donated directly to Feeding South Dakota.
• $1,033 raised to support both programs.
Thank you to every student, family, and staff member who contributed. Your generosity will make a real and lasting impact for our Edison families and our community.
(Photos incoming… including some very committed turkey principals!)

UPDATE: The Drive Out Hunger challenge is HEATING UP! 🐾🔥
6th grade is currently in the lead… but there is still plenty of time for a comeback!
And guess what? We’ve upped the stakes.
Our NEW goal is 10,000 items — and if we hit it, the winning grade level earns a special treat during Tech Time AND our amazing principals will dress up as turkeys.
Yes… TURKEYS. 🦃
Let’s push to the finish line and show what the Edison community can do!

🌟 Congratulations to our Students of the Month! 🌟
We’re proud to celebrate these outstanding CATS who go above and beyond showing kindness, leadership, and a positive attitude in all they do.
Thank you for making Edison a great place to learn and grow. Keep shining!

Drive Out Hunger: Edison Food Collection Challenge!
Edison Student Council is excited to launch our food drive to create the Edison Backpack Program, a new, on-site resource for Edison families which will also supplement the existing Feeding South Dakota Backpack Program. In addition, donated items and funds will help support Feeding South Dakota as a whole.

• Grade with the most items = Tech Time during 9th period on Nov. 25
• If we reach 1,000 total items = ALL grades get Tech Time during 9th period
• If we reach 1,200 total items = Tech Time for all PLUS a special surprise!

• Mac & cheese cups
• Ramen
• Canned pasta (SpaghettiOs, ravioli, etc.)
• Crackers
• Granola bars
• Cereal cups
