Our Oceti Sakowin 8th graders earned a field trip to Augustana University on Thursday!
Students experienced music and film production, participated in hands-on science experiments, explored a variety of art exhibits, and toured campus. It was a great day of learning, exploring, and spending time together outside the classroom.

Thank you to our EMS Athletics PTO and every person who volunteered, donated, and attended our pancake feed! Together, we raised over $1,300 to support Edison Athletics-what an incredible show of support for our student-athletes!

Attention all 8th graders going to Roosevelt! Connections is a great opportunity for incoming freshmen to get a jump on high school. Students will learn the ins and outs of Roosevelt and earn 0.5 credits towards graduation (that is the same amount that you earn for a semester long class!). Start their high school experience off on the right foot by enrolling in Connections! Space is limited. (If you are going to a different Sioux Falls public high school you can use the same link to sign up, just click on your high school when it asks which school you are going to!)

✨ Congratulations to our March Students of the Month! ✨
These students were nominated by their teams for consistently showing what it means to live out the Edison DREAM each day. We are so proud of the way you lead, support others, and represent Edison so well.
Keep it up, CATS!
🚨 Reminder: There is NO SCHOOL tomorrow! Enjoy the day!

🎬🍿 Today, our Team 7-3 students celebrated their hard work with the “Festival de Cortos Tigrillos” in Spanish Social Studies!
In Srta. Rebollar’s class, students had the opportunity to watch each other’s short films while enjoying popcorn-creating a movie theater experience right here at school.
The halls were filled with the smell of fresh popcorn, laughter, and excitement as students celebrated one another’s creativity and effort. What a fun and memorable way to showcase their learning!

Congratulations to Ms. Carly King in the Counseling Center, who was recently recognized as a Sioux Falls School District Staff Star! Ms. Carly supports students, families, and staff in many ways throughout our building and plays an important role in helping keep Edison running smoothly.
Her positivity, creativity, and dedication help make Edison a welcoming place for our school community every day.
Thank you for all you do for Edison, Ms. Carly!

Friday, January 23, 2026, will be a Remote Learning Day in the Sioux Falls School District!
iPads and Chromebooks were sent home with each student earlier today. We will not have in-person learning in the schools, but students are expected to connect to their Canvas account from home for assignments and learning resources. They have practiced this at school and know what is expected of them.
Additional information for Students and Families can be found here: https://app.smore.com/n/wgz62
