Pie in the Face

This year at Cleveland, we have fully implemented PBIS and our staff and students are continually reminded that LEARNING IS FUN!!

"Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and wellbeing. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives" (Center on PBIS, 2024). Find more information online at https://www.pbis.org/pbis/what...

At Cleveland, our students ROAR

R-respect
0-ownership
A-achieve their goals
R-role models

Across the school, all staff members are praising students and writing ROAR slips when they see students exhibiting these behaviors.

The PBIS team at Cleveland worked hard over the summer to write schoolwide expectations for all areas of the school including: lunchroom, hallway, bathroom, playground, etc. Videos have been made for teachers to share with students about the expectations. When we see a problem area, we watch the video again and teachers practice the expected behavior with students. Administrators follow up with accountability and practice as well if needed.

What students are learning is that when they show ROARing behavior, it not only makes the school run more smoothly and safely each day, but the incentives they are earning show them that LEARNING IS FUN and HARD WORK REALLY DOES PAY OFF!

We could not be more proud of the staff at students at Cleveland Elementary.
