Public Records

The Sioux Falls School District believes in operating in an open, transparent manner and will make District records available for public inspection in accordance with state and federal law.

The Business Manager, or designee, will act as the public records officer custodian of records for handling routine informal public record requests.

In accordance with state law, the Superintendent is the District’s public records officer responsible for responding to formal public record requests and for maintaining confidentiality of those records not open to the public.

Public records are available for viewing during the normal office hours of the Instructional Planning Center. A log will be maintained for all public record requests and the disposition of all such requests. The public records officer shall annually establish fees that may be charged for the retrieval and copying of public records.
