Summer Instructional Programs

Summer Programming
The Sioux Falls School District will offer summer programs for high school students wishing to earn course credit. Summer enrichment programs for middle school and elementary students may be offered by Community Education and/or a specific school to align with state content standards. All programming costs will be covered by participant fees, general fund support on a sliding scale, or federal allocations.

Special Education Extended School Year Programs
Extended School Year (ESY) programs will be provided as directed by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (I.D.E.A.) and outlined in the Sioux Falls School District Special Education Comprehensive Plan to eligible students at no cost to parents.

Federally Funded Summer Programs
If federal funding is available, specialized summer programs for targeted populations and/or purposes are offered to provide remediation and/or enrichment, dependent on the guidelines from the funding source. The summer site and staffing needs will be determined in the planning process and eligible students will be notified regarding the availability of the summer opportunity. The Federal Programs Coordinator will assist with the planning and administration of the program.
