Prior to adopting a calendar for the coming year, the Superintendent or designee shall appoint a District Calendar Committee, which shall include representation from each employee group, three parents of school-aged child one from each level (elementary school, middle school, and high school), and the PTA, as well as selected administrators. The School Board President shall appoint two Board members to serve on the committee.
The committee shall be convened no later than January 30, with respect to the calendar for the next school year. This group will consider possible schedules and will seek the input of various stakeholder groups, which may include parents/guardians, students, staff, and/or community members when a major change is considered. A finalized calendar will be recommended to the School Board not later than the first regular Board meeting in April.
In the event changes in the calendar may be necessary during the school year, the Superintendent or designee shall reconvene the committee to study the issue. The committee may make such recommendations as it deems appropriate, and revisions shall come back to the School Board for approval.
