Transportation Services

The School District shall provide transportation for eligible students residing within the District boundaries under provisions of state laws.

The District may transport at public expense all eligible students of the District. The Board will set the standard of service. Primary mode of service shall be busing. Parents/guardians retain the option of providing transportation at their expense. Under this policy any parents/guardians' rights are protected by due process procedures. The Superintendent is directed to formulate administrative regulations which will implement this policy.

Students birth to twenty-one, certified as needing special education or special education and related services shall be provided transportation if determined eligible for the related service by an IEP team and addressed on a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). IEP teams have the capability to make decisions based upon the unique needs of the student and to make exceptions to established policy when warranted. IEP teams considering such exceptions will be chaired by a District director or designee, who can commit such resources.
