Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) I is predominantly a historical perspective of the role of the military throughout the history of the United States with emphasis on aerospace developments and their influence on National Policy and objectives worldwide. It introduces cadets to history, organization , mission, traditions, goals, and objectives of JROTC for all services. It also introduces key military customs and courtesies, describes how to project a positive, professional image, and examines the principles of ethical and moral behavior. In addition, the course provides leadership experiences that help to develop positive attitudes toward authority, responsibility, and self-discipline. Cadets also develop an appreciation for physical fitness in maintaining good health and appearance. Finally, cadets will be introduced to civics and our national government where they will gain a historical understanding of the American flag and other important national symbols and learn how the US Constitution protects our rights and freedoms as American citizens.

This course satisfies a General Elective requirements as well as CTE credits in Government and Public Administration.

There is NO MILITARY OBLIGATION associated with these courses.

After-school co-curricular activities, weekend activities, week-long summer camps, drill team and color guard are all optional.
