The Middle School Special Education program provides specialized instruction through resource programs at each home school. In addition, self-contained RISE programs are located in two middle schools - George McGovern and Patrick Henry.
Special Education services include specialized instruction in reading, written language, and math, as well as study skills. For students who need to learn skills that are significantly different from their classmates, smaller classes are offered where skills based on core content connectors are emphasized. All students have opportunities for integrated learning experiences throughout their school day. Social skill and behavior instruction is available in Middle Schools and are designed to support social and/or behavior needs.
