The 30-member Task Force charged with determining future facility needs for the Sioux Falls School District met for its first meeting Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Instructional Planning Center. Co-Chairs Nan Baker and Vernon Brown led the meeting, which included presentations from District leaders and the City on current enrollment, projected enrollment, growth in the city, and basic facility information regarding age and condition. All materials discussed at the meeting are available on this section of the website.

Future Task Force meetings are scheduled for the following dates:

  • Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 5:30pm

All meetings are open to the public with time at the end of each meeting set aside for public comments to the Task Force. The meetings are livestreamed and are later available on the District’s YouTube channel.

Community Feedback Top 10 Categories

Early in the process, the District hosted three community engagement sessions where feedback from all participants was requested. One member of the 30-member task force analyzed that feedback and put together some word clouds to depict the most important ideas that were part of the requested feedback. The topics with the most responses appear largest on these word clouds. The task force spent time reviewing this information at its second meeting – putting great emphasis on listening to and learning from what the community wants and needs.
