The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004 requires states to have in place a State Performance Plan (SPP) that evaluates the State's efforts to implement the requirements and purposes of IDEA and describes how the State will improve student performance/achievement. The State reports to the public these results annually. The South Dakota Department of Education provides information to each South Dakota school district about their performance on the 16 indicators. Note that the information is based on the data in 2016-2017 except for indicator 1, 2, 4A, 4B, 9, and 10 which are based on 2015-2016. Some indicators may not have been required to participate in the data collection during an identified year so an N/A (Not Applicable) may appear; an X means any rate that is based on a numerator of fewer than 10 students.
