- Routine Health Screenings
- In keeping with the District’s commitment to student health and wellness, it is recommended that all children enrolling in a Sioux Falls School District school for the first time present documentation of a physical examination completed by a health care provider within a year before or after entering any previous school program. A school program may include Head Start, early childhood or any other school based program. Some programs may require physical exams. In the event that a physical exam is required, parents will be notified of the requirement.
- Routine health screenings including areas such as vision, hearing, dental and communicable disease will be conducted on students in certain grade levels according to time available and demonstrated need. Parents will be notified of the need for further evaluation. Assistance will be provided in finding available community financial and health resources.
