All applications are received in the District's Human Resources Department.
Qualifications for Pre-K-12 substitute teachers include proof of a college degree.
The Human Resources Department is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and training of substitute teachers. Selection of substitute teachers is based on a process of evaluating qualifications, including background checks, coordinated by the Human Resources Department.
Additionally, all Pre-K-12 substitute teacher assignments are made by the Human Resources Department according to principal preference and substitute teacher qualifications. A centralized substitute calling system will fill positions identified by administration and emergency needs identified by staff.
If a substitute teacher works one-half day or less, the substitute will receive one-half (1/2) day's pay. If the substitute teacher works more than one-half (1/2) day, the substitute will be paid a full day's salary.
