We hope you are all staying home and staying healthy during this challenging time! We are disappointed that we’ve had to cancel the many fun adventures and classes included in our spring catalog, but we know it is best.
While Community Education exists to serve you, we are reaching out today to ask if you have a talent that could be shared with Sioux Falls School District.
We have staff who are daily preparing and delivering meals and school materials to students – either at the school or on buses sent to high-need neighborhoods. On Friday, the CDC released new guidelines that recommend those who interacting with the public wear a cloth mask. We do have a small number of disposable masks available for District use. However, when that supply runs out, we are hoping to provide a cloth mask to further protect staff. If you have the skills, supplies, and the ability to make masks for staff, we would gratefully accept those.
If you wish to donate cloth masks, please place the finished product in a ziplock bag and then place the bag in the plastic tote at the north door of the IPC lobby, 201 E. 38th St. We will take proper handling precautions to prevent the spread of the virus prior to disseminating these to our staff. Thank you for consider this project. If sewing is not your “super-power,” we would be honored if you could share this request with another person who does have this skill.
Thank you – and be well!
