District Breaks Ground on New NW Middle School

Last modified Friday, 03 August 2012
The Sioux Falls School District, the Sioux Falls Development Foundation and the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce held a ground breaking ceremony August 1st at the site of the District's newest addition, a middle school in northwest Sioux Falls. The new facility, located 3/4s of a mile west of Southeast Technical Institute on Maple Street, will open its doors to students in August 2014.

The middle school is part of a broader plan to end the use of the current Joe Foss building, move the Joe Foss alternative program - and other District alternative programs - to the current Axtell Park Middle School Building and open the doors of the new middle school to Axtell Park area students and those living in this quickly growing area of Sioux Falls.

The new middle school is located on land which will also be home to a city park, a fire station and an elementary school in the coming years.
