The Department of Assessment, Technology and Information Services (ATI) consists of Student Assessment and Evaluation, the Reprographics Center, Technical Services, and Information Services.
Student AssessmentThe current Sioux Falls School District assessment program includes both District-developed and State-mandated achievement testing. In addition to a State-mandated writing assessment at grades 5, 7, and 10, the State also requires achievement testing for No Child Left Behind at grades 3 - 8 and 11. The District conducts writing assessments at grades 4, 6, 8 and 11. Semester tests are developed at the District level for selected courses in English, math, social studies, science, and Spanish I. Assessment data is reported to parents/guardians and is available online for District staff.
High school students may elect to take college entrance tests such as the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) is available to students who wish to be considered for a National Merit Scholarship.
