JFK is a K-5 building that was built in 1987 with additions in 1997-1998 and 2007-2008. Our school is the second largest elementary in Sioux Falls with an enrollment of over 600 students and 90-plus staff. JFK is a cluster site for the west side of Sioux Falls and with over thirty special needs students served in this program. Their needs are met on an individual basis by self-contained classrooms, adaptive art, music and PE classes, as well as integration into regular classes. Students at JFK continually score above the District average on standardized tests in Reading, Math and Writing. According to No Child Left Behind data, John F. Kennedy Elementary has made its annual yearly progress every year since 2004.
