Congratulations to Dr. Sue McAdarah, Elementary Curriculum Coordinator for the Sioux Falls School District, who was named the SDASCD 2017-2018 Curriculum Leader of the Year!
Dr. McAdaragh has used her skills gained through thirty plus years of education to lead change in practices and content in elementary classrooms in the Sioux Falls School District. She has worked with administration, instructional coaches, and teachers to implement the SEL (social emotional learning component) into the new English Language Arts curriculum. She is a constant advocate for all students to receive instruction around a guaranteed and viable curriculum so that districts can ensure access and equity of instruction for all students.
Building the capacity of teachers to impact the learning for students has been Sue’s focus and personal interest. She goes above and beyond by researching the professional development opportunities that will impact the needs of Sioux Falls students.
Sue’s vision and belief that all students can achieve has helped the students of the Sioux Falls School District to receive an outstanding education, has helped teachers to develop, and has helped administration to achieve specific goals. It is easy to understand why Dr. Sue McAdaragh is this year’s South Dakota Curriculum Leader of the Year.
